WHAT IS THIS ROLE ALL ABOUT?

Lead a team of Business Systems Analysts, Infrastructure Analysts and Technical Writers to develop and enhance agile practices in technology product development and support. Building on a solid understanding of technology infrastructure and business needs, this role will define and promote use of industry-leading Requirements Definition Management, templates, and agile deliverables for technology product development and process improvements. This leader will also help guide the Company through developing agile practices and techniques to deliver technology projects, work efforts, and business process improvement initiatives with consistent, repeatable processes and standards.

DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS WIZARD

Agile Product Development Analysis and Requirements Management

• Manage a team of analysts and writers providing in-depth analysis and requirements management for agile product development. Drive high level of engagement with Product Owners that consume the analysis.
• Implement industry-standard best practices related to requirements definition management (RDM) methods and processes.
• Establish and update data-driven decision making practices for analyst team to provide to business partners.
• Partner with product development team to develop training materials and coach enterprise on best practices (roles, ceremonies, artifacts) in agile Requirements and Specification excellence
• Hire, train and support continued development of team members
• Enhance agile product development practices supporting Scrum and scaled agile practices, including creating templates and socializing Company transformation from Waterfall to Agile where appropriate.
• Build and enhance RDM maturity roadmap to meet needs for waterfall, agile, and live operations support.
• Support adherence to SOX, PCI, ITIL, ITSM, corporate security or other applicable compliance standards.

Process Improvement

• Lead teams to capture, validate, consolidate, and prioritize business needs, requirements, and requests against the objectives and long-term strategies as defined by technology priorities
• Lead analysis of existing methods to promote effective operations through standardization, improvement, simplification, discontinuance, or other methods
• Quantify the financial and operational impact of implementing new or modified business processes and developing business acceptance criteria of technology solutions

Enterprise Content Management/Collaboration

• Promote use of industry-standard collaboration tools (such as JIRA/Confluence) and coach teams on effective use of tools in product development and project work
• Help define product development documentation practices and processes, including technical solutions for analysis activities and re-use of requirements and business rules

People Management

• Lead team to provide training for agile deliverables (User Stories, Acceptance Criteria) and ceremonies
• Facilitate meetings and interface with peers and management to implement and communicate process improvement methods related to requirements definition and management
• Lead teams to develop consistent and repeatable processes to provide key deliverables in SDLC
• Prepare technology focused yearly training plans by researching and implementing Best Practices for delivering timely training.

• Ability to drive decisions (buy vs. build) and present data-driven decisions based on analysis
• Ability to identify innovative ways to resolve business problems and challenges
• Ability to continuously recommend potential improvements to processes and business needs.

AM I QUALIFIED?

Experience Creating and Casting these Spells:

• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in business analysis, especially with software development/software design focus
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience leading teams
• 8 + years of Information Technology experience
• Agile, BABOK, PMP, Six Sigma, ITIL, ITSM exposure or certifications

Knowledge, Abilities and Characteristics of the Ideal Wizard:

• Ability to create and deliver data-driven reports, roadmaps and presentations
• Ability to effectively facilitate and lead appropriate meetings based on outcome desired
• Effective leadership skills
• Strong communication skills both in person and in writing. Ability to communicate effectively with technical resources as well as with senior leadership.
• Advanced use of collaboration tools and methods for waterfall and agile product development
• Familiar with the ITIL framework and SDLC methodologies such as Agile/Scrum and Kanban.
• Experience working collaboratively to create data-driven decisions and solve enterprise problems.

Education and Training:

• Bachelor's Degree required
• Agile training certifications (Certified Scrum Master, Certified Product Owner) desired
• 2+ years administration of SharePoint sites used for collaboration and document management solutions
• ISO, RUP, Agile, BABOK, PMP, Six Sigma, ITIL exposure or certifications desired

Time Expected to Reach Full Performance Level in Position:

• 6 Months

Physical Requirements:

• Office environment, able to work on computer or phone for long periods of time.
